今天也是专门整理了5个近期GRE中出现的超难词，并且根据真题的语境给出了相应的英文释义和助记方式。

If you describe someone or something as recalcitrant, you mean that they are unwilling to obey orders or are difficult to deal with.
re-=against, calc-=⽯头，脚踝（源⾃拉丁语），如calcium 钙。因此recalcitrant这个词，有两个解释：
⼀种是说：re-=新：重新像⽯头⼀样，即“顽固的，反抗的”；
另⼀个解释是说：通过脚踝引申为脚，re-=against：踢回去的，即“反抗的，反对的”。
（第⼆个解释其实是最根本的解释，只是现在calc作为脚踝，这⼀⽤法已经很少⻅了。）
The danger is that recalcitrant local authorities will reject their responsibilities.
If you describe someone as obsequious, you are criticizing them because they are too eager to help or agree with someone more important than them.
ob-=to; sequ-=follow,（与second是同源词），-ous为形容词后缀；跟在别⼈后⾯的，引申为“奉承拍⻢的”。
Perhaps your mother was very obsequious to doctors.
scrupulous adj. 严格认真的，一丝不苟的
Someone who is scrupulous takes great care to do what is fair, honest, or morally right.
来⾃拉丁语。同源词：scruple n. 微；顾虑；scruple最早表示“⼩⽽锐利的⽯头引起不舒服”，推断来⾃“鞋⼦⾥⾯的⼩⽯头，让⼈感觉到不舒服”，因此可以表示“微，顾虑”。
可以通过 scruple记忆scrupulous，就是关注每个细节，即“严格认真的，⼀丝不苟的”。
The Board is scrupulous in its consideration of all applications for licences.
parsimonious adj. 过分节俭的;吝啬的;小气的
Someone who is parsimonious is very unwilling to spend money.
源⾃名词 parsimony n. 异常俭省,极度节俭；
这个词还可以通过联想记忆法记忆，读⾳很像“怕失money”
A classic example comes from comedian Jack Benny, famous for his parsimony.
Something that is unremitting continues without stopping or becoming less intense.
un-=not; re-=back,回来；mit-=send，因此这个词表示不倒退的，⼀直向前的，即“坚持不懈的”。
I was sent to boarding school, where I spent six years of unremitting misery.
